I would like to thank Alfonso, Patricia, two Alicias, two Pablos and one Paulino for their help and for encouraging me to write this blog.
My name is Mª del Mar, although people usually tend to be practical and call me Mar. I work as a secretary and I live in Madrid, although I have lived and visited many other places inside and outside Spain (Villarrobledo, Gijón, Sevilla, Granada, Tenerife, Palm Harbor, Miami, Cairo, Kuwait, Riyadh, Trinidad and Tobago, Freiburg im Breisgau, Zürich, London, Paris, Brussels, Florence, Rome, etc). I like to think that this has made me more tolerant, less prone to prejudices and, although I have always said that there is some of everything everywhere (especially applicable to the human temperament), fascinated by such diverse idiosyncrasy in this increasingly smaller planet.
One of my passions is gastronomy and culinary, I am very curious about it and although I am not totally at the expense of my stomach, I am one of those who enter an almost hypnotic trance when I see a La Cornue oven, a molcajete or a good gazpacho Manchego.
The intention of this blog is mainly to collect my most memorable experiences and to deepen my knowledge. I do not have a fully equipped kitchen, in fact it is quite old, but I do have a more than extensive collection of books on this subject, plus magazines, etc, although my sources are also nourished by recipes kindly shared by friends, relatives, acquaintances or own experiments.
I might also deal with other topics that call my attention, but it will basically be gastronomic and culinary themes what I will write about.
